Position: QUALITY CONTROL/CREW CHIEF - SEASONAL
Company: Located in Langley, Mark-Crest Food is a family owned and operated company produce nearly 300 frozen products ranging from tart shells, pie shells, crepes and puff pastry to fully baked savoury pies and appetizers. Our reputation for quality products and service has become Mark-Crest’s trademark.
Start Date: August 22, 2011
Position type: Seasonal Full-Time from August 22 to December 31, 2011
(Possible extension into 2011)
Work Hours: Monday to Thursday: 3:00 – 11:30 pm
Friday: 12:00 – 8:30 pm
Salary/wage: Commensurate with experience
Location: Langley, BC
Duties: 1) Enforcing pre-requisite (GMP) and other food safety programs in the plant
2) Conducting in-line and finished product testing for product quality
3) Monitoring sanitation practices
4) Supervising production crew – as needed
5) Enforcing company policies
Qualifications: 1) Degree/diploma in Food Science or related discipline
2) Prior experience in quality control/assurance of food manufacturing is an asset
3) Prior experience in supervisory/leadership role is an asset
Requirements: 1) Good leadership and communication skills
2) Strong team player who can also work independently
3) Self-motivated, organized, and efficient
4) Fluent in either Vietnamese or Punjabi is an asset
5) Interest and knowledge in pasty and baking is an asset
6) Familiar with GMP, government regulations and quality assurance procedures
7) Familiar with product and environmental sampling
